Platelet-Rich Fibrin Facial

PRF with Microneedling

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) combined with microneedling for enhanced skin rejuvenation. Your own blood is drawn, processed to concentrate growth factors, then applied during microneedling for accelerated healing and collagen stimulation.

$450–$700 per session

About This Treatment

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) with microneedling combines two powerful regenerative treatments into a single session for enhanced skin rejuvenation. PRF is the next generation of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) — it uses a slower centrifuge speed to produce a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors slowly over 10-14 days, providing more sustained stimulation than traditional PRP. PRF also retains white blood cells and stem cells that are removed during PRP processing, making it more potent.

During a PRF microneedling treatment at Lodi MedSpa, a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm and processed to extract the concentrated platelet-rich fibrin. Your provider then performs microneedling on the treatment area, creating thousands of micro-channels in the skin. The PRF is applied topically and penetrates through these channels, delivering growth factors deep into the skin where they can stimulate collagen production, accelerate healing, and enhance overall skin quality.

PRF microneedling is particularly effective for acne scarring, under-eye dark circles and hollowing, fine lines and wrinkles, overall skin texture and radiance, and skin laxity. Because it uses your own blood products, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. Most patients see visible improvement after a single session, with optimal results achieved after a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments every 3-6 months help sustain and build upon your results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PRF and how is it different from PRP?
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is the next generation of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma). PRF uses a slower centrifuge speed to create a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors slowly over time, providing more sustained healing and rejuvenation. PRF also contains white blood cells and stem cells that PRP processing removes, making it more potent.
How is PRF collected?
A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a routine blood test. The blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich fibrin. The entire collection and processing takes about 15-20 minutes. Since PRF uses your own blood, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction.
What results can I expect from PRF with microneedling?
PRF microneedling produces significant improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall radiance. It is particularly effective for acne scarring, under-eye dark circles, fine lines, and general skin rejuvenation. Results develop over several weeks as collagen remodels, with optimal improvements visible after a series of 3 treatments.
How long is the recovery from PRF microneedling?
Expect 2-5 days of redness and mild swelling, similar to a moderate sunburn. Some patients experience slight peeling around days 3-5 as the skin renews. You should avoid direct sun exposure, active skincare ingredients (retinols, acids), and makeup for at least 24-48 hours after treatment.
How often should I get PRF microneedling treatments?
For optimal results, we recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. After completing the initial series, maintenance treatments every 3-6 months help sustain and build upon your results. Your provider will recommend a schedule based on your specific skin concerns and goals.
